To be honest about it, I was at a loss in choosing a movie to watch for the Film After 11 podcast this week. I had a few conflicting ideas, but none I was ready to do. My son Joseph, who’s a big Indiana Jones fan, requested the fourth movie in that series, the divisive Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Having no better options prepared, I decided to indulge him.

Crystal Skull is, by most measures including my own, the weakest entry in the Indiana Jones series (though, admittedly, some fans dislike Dial of Destiny more). After first watching it a couple decades ago, I left disappointed. A few viewings later, spaced out a bit over time, I’ve warmed to it a bit. My full written review is linked below.

The film has some good qualities and still feels like an Indiana Jones movie. Frankly, is Mutt Williams any more annoying a character than Willie from Temple of Doom?

Well, on that point, yeah, he really is.
